Howard Murad, M.D., FAAD

CEO and Founder

Howard Murad, M.D., FAAD, is recognized as a leading visionary for his scientific innovations in the fields of health, wellness and dermatology, beginning the Inclusive Health movement which focuses on a total body approach to youth building. Dr. Murad’s scientific discovery of The Science of Cellular Water™, which identifies the common denominator of aging and illness as cellular water loss, is now recognized as one of the world’s most comprehensive approaches to understanding health and aging, looking at the ability of cell membranes to hold water as the fundamental marker of youthful good health.

A board-certified dermatologist, trained pharmacist and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, Dr. Murad has personally treated over 50,000 patients. In 1989 he founded Murad, Inc. as a way to share his groundbreaking skincare formulas which were among the first to achieve significant measurable anti-aging results without surgery. Dr. Murad continues his innovative research and holds 18 patents for advances in the science of skin health.

Known as “The Father of Internal Skincare” for being an originator of the use of dietary supplements to promote skin health and as the pioneer of the use of Alpha Hydroxy Acids in topical skin care, Dr. Murad has received numerous recognitions including being named the “Best Forward-Thinking Doctor” by Vogue Magazine, a “Beauty Genius” by Elle Magazine, an “Industry Visionary” by the International SPA Association and was inducted into Dermascope magazine’s “Academy of Legends.” Dr. Murad is largely considered to be a leading visionary in the fields of skincare and dermatology and continues to revolutionize the skincare, health and wellness industries. Additionally, he discovered and continuously conducts research on the impact of Cultural Stress, the constant and pervasive form of stress due to modern day living which has been scientifically proven to have a negative impact on cellular health. He continues his innovative research today using his training as a pharmacist, a board certified dermatologist, his insights as an entrepreneur and his enormous passion for life to positively transform overall health and wellness of people across the globe.

Dr. Murad grew up in Queens, N.Y. After earning his degree at The Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, he worked as a pharmacist while attending University of California at Irvine Medical School.  He completed his rotating internship at New York’s Queens Hospital. Later, Dr. Murad joined the U.S. military as a General Medical Officer for the United States Army, where he received a Bronze Star for his service as a battalion surgeon in Vietnam. He then completed his dermatology residency at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital at UCLA.

Dr. Murad is involved in continuous research on total body health and runs a robust medical practice, the Murad Inclusive Health Medical Group in El Segundo, Calif., where he regularly sees patients who are seeking out personalized Inclusive Health programs.

Richard S. Murad

General Manager

Richard Murad, General Manager for Murad, Inc., is responsible for directing overall company strategic planning, as well as overseeing the operations, marketing and sales functions for the Murad business. During Richard’s tenure, he has led the charge on Murad’s penetration of international markets, growing that landscape by over 100%, guided the company in 15 years of consecutive sales growth while reducing spend, and has set the foundation for future company expansion. Additionally, Richard leads all new business development outreach, and serves as Treasurer of the newly formed Murad Family Foundation which was created to advance the health of Southern California’s children by expanding access to fitness, nutrition and education.

Joining Murad, Inc. in 1996 as General Counsel, Richard was appointed Vice President of Legal Affairs and Vice President of Operations in 1999. In 2003 he was formally named Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, and thereafter was promoted to General Manager. Prior to joining Murad, Richard was a partner in Tannenbaum Helpern law firm in New York City, specializing in civil litigation. Richard holds an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University.

Richard currently resides in Manhattan Beach, Calif. with his wife and three children where he also founded Beach City Baseball Academy, a state-of-the-art baseball training facility, open to the public.

Hilarie Murad

President, Murad Family Foundation

As President of the Murad Family Foundation, Hilarie Murad oversees all aspects of the organization and ensures that all funding aligns with the Foundation’s mission to advance the health of Southern California’s children by expanding access to fitness and nutrition education. Founded in 2011 by members of the Murad Family, the foundation is an extension of Murad, Inc. founder Howard Murad’s, M.D., FAAD, numerous ongoing philanthropic efforts and his passion to help children achieve their dreams.

Prior to overseeing the Murad Family Foundation, Hilarie served as General Manager of Murad UK where she ran the Direct to Consumer business. Additionally, Hilarie has acted as President of the Murad Inclusive Health Spa and, prior to that, General Manager of Global Marketing, where she was responsible for companywide marketing initiatives and successfully restructuring several key departments including product development and packaging. Hilarie originally joined Murad, Inc. in 1996 as a customer service representative.

Hilarie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Politics from Clark University in Massachusetts and a Certificate in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, Calif.  Hilarie currently resides in Manhattan Beach, Calif., with her husband and two children.

Jeff Murad

Vice President, New Product Development

Jeff Murad is Vice President of New Product Development at Murad, Inc., overseeing the formulation, testing, regulatory compliance and packaging compatibility of Murad’s entire selection of products. Under Jeff’s leadership, Murad’s product line has grown to over 100 SKUs and has produced numerous top selling items for Sephora and Ulta as well as the award-winning Anti-Aging Acne line, Clean Scene teen skincare line and Murad Man line. During the past four years, the Product Development Department has tripled in size to meet escalating demand for support functions sparked by the growing pipeline of innovative products created.

Joining Murad Inc. in 2000, Jeff works alongside his father; legendary dermatologist and Murad founder Howard Murad, M.D., FAAD, on the development of new products and formulations. Continuing to further the science-based, results-oriented family of products, Jeff is also responsible for ensuring that new product development is linked closely with consumer demand by working seamlessly with Murad’s marketing division.

Jeff holds an MBA from University of Southern California with a special focus on strategy and marketing. He completed his undergraduate studies at New York University and is currently on the ICMAD Board of Directors, an elite consortium of the most experienced cosmetic company owners and executives in the industry. Jeff currently resides in Playa del Rey, Calif.

George Stork

Vice-President, Information Technology

George Stork is Vice-President of Information Technology for Murad, Inc., overseeing all aspects of IT including Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications and IT Project Management. In his role. Stork is responsible for leading the IT department to support the company’s growth initiatives and foster collaboration between IT and business units to ensure that technology is aligned to provide the necessary tools for the organization to operate efficiently. He will also develop and support solutions to enable Murad to penetrate new markets and channels and to differentiate its products among leading brands.

Stork came to Murad with more than 20 years of experience in Information Technology. Prior to Murad, Stork was Vice-President of Information Technology at Beachbody, LLC, a Fitness ecommerce, direct response and network marketing (MLM) business. While at Beachbody, LLC, Stork strategically built a department with talented engineers and technicians covering a range of expertise to drive a broad set of projects in support of the dynamic business objectives of the company. He also oversaw the expansion of the company from 70 to over 700 employees, 80,000 independent distributors, over 8MM customers, and 10x revenue growth through acquisitions, and establishing new market channels and business models. In addition to his work at Beachbody, LLC, Stork honed his IT skills at Underwater Kinetics, as well as ASI Aerospace Group, Inc.

Stork graduated from University of Southern California with a degree in Geography and also has several certifications including, Oracle E-Business Suite R12 System Administration, Linux System Administration, Ecometry System Administration, Informix Database Administration, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Certification, Integrated Systems Technology (IST) Software Systems Administration and Novell Netware System Administration.

Pamela de Ryss

Executive Vice President, Sales

Pamela de Ryss is Executive Vice President of Sales for Murad, Inc., overseeing U.S. & Canadian retail and professional accounts including long standing partnerships with Sephora, Ulta and Massage Envy. Responsible for the formulation and implementation of corporate strategies, exploring and capturing business opportunities and refining the sales organization’s structure to maximize productivity for profitable growth, de Ryss has been a driving force behind the remarkable growth the company has seen.. Additionally, de Ryss now oversees the roll out of the Murad Inclusive Health Spa franchises, further solidifying Murad as a company that goes beyond esthetics to achieve optimal beauty through total body wellness.

de Ryss began her career at Murad in 2002 as a Regional Sales Director for National Accounts and Spas and was promoted to Vice President of Sales for National Accounts in 2005. With her elevation to Executive Vice President in 2008, her duties were expanded to include the professional channel, which has been reorganized and revitalized under her stewardship.

de Ryss’ extensive beauty industry background includes management positions at Christian Dior, Giorgio Beverly Hills, and P&G Prestige Fragrances where she held the title of National Retail Sales Manager before moving to Murad in 2002.

de Ryss received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Washington.

Marios Stamatelopoulos

Vice President, International

Marios Stamatelopoulos is Vice President of International for Murad, Inc., overseeing all aspects of international sales, marketing and business development activities in over 50 countries. Stamatelopoulos is responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities of distribution.

Prior to joining Murad, Stamatelopoulos was the Commercial Director at Korres Natural Products and the International Sales Marketing Manager for Europe, Asia Pacific and Middle East at Kitchenaid Appliances.

A native of Greece, Stamatelopoulos received his undergraduate degree at the University of Piraeus and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Stamatelopoulos currently resides in Santa Monica, Calif. with his wife and son.
